Clinical Safety & Transfer-of-Care Policy

Hospital Collaborative Agreements

While midwifery care and physiological birth are safe for low-risk pregnancies, medical emergencies can happen. Willowmere maintains strict clinical parameters for birth center safety. During labor, our midwives monitor both mother and baby continuously.

Non-Emergent Transfers

If labor stalls or medical intervention is requested (such as epidural pain management), we arrange a peaceful, orderly transfer of care to our collaborative hospital partner, located just 1.5 miles away, with your midwife remaining by your side.

Emergent Transfers

For immediate complications, emergency medical services are summoned. Our midwives are fully certified in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), keeping safety first and communicating directly with hospital staff.
